Paradise Shelduck (Tadorna variegata)
A very rare vagrant to Australian shores that is commonly found in New Zealand. One turned up in early 2016 on the NSW South Coast. A more recent sighting, this shot was taken in May 2016 at Windsor, NSW, on the outskirts of Sydney. The last previous Australian sighting appears to be five birds which were observed at Lord Howe Island in 1950.
